Miscellaneous Information
Technical issues:
- If you reach an "Oops! You did something unexpected" message in the Simbani throwing competition against Yesufu, reload the "Automatic Save" and click (like crazy in some computers!) on Yesufu just before he throws the spear.
Alternately, you may try to hold the [ENTER] key while the cursor is above Yesufu's head.
- Digital Effects problem
Occurs on most today's sound-cards, which the game's old driver doesn't support. If the game says 'unable to initialize audio' or that you hear all the sound effect (for example, the sound effect of the flaming sword in the opening, throwing rocks/speras etc..) in MIDI format - install Sierra's SB16DRV patch (check our downloads section for QfG 3), which will replace the audio driver of QfG 3 to a newer one and will fix the problem.
Funny Stuff:43>
Save before you do this:
- A nice way to die, is to go to Salim (who sells the potions), sit down, light the pipes and smoke (hand icon) them 3 times..
Just funny...
- You'll never starve in the forest, when you're starving, stop, and eat the waffle walker.
- Try to look at the human-sized vase in Kreesha's quarters.
- Very rarely, you'll see Laurel & Hardey in the Savanna, looking for the French fort..
- Also pretty rarely, you'll meet a Rhino that will start ru
- See the silly clown from "Quest for Glory II: Trial by Fire" (in which to see it you had to enable "silly clowns" option) inside the Welcome Inn of Tarna.
- Also inside the Inn, search Oliver from the programming team.
- During your rides through the Savanna and the Jungle, you occasionally run into signs with funny messages, and traps than you can disarm.
- The moose is beside the junk dealers.
- The black bird is sold to you (as a thief) by the junk dealers.
- DID YOU KNOW? QfG 3 was originally planned to be the Shadows of Darkness episode. {The Quest for Glory Series was initially designed as a 4-game series, of which every episode
represent an 'element' and a season -
Earth and Spring (So You Want To Be A Hero), Fire and Summer (Trial by Fire), Air and Fall (Shadows of Darkness), Water and Winter (Dragon Fire).}
However, the Coles realized that the character wasn't ready, looking at the aspects of skills and plot, to go from Shapeir straight to Mordavia and defeat the Dark One. So they made another episode-
"Wages of War" (pre-release originally named "Seekers of the Lost City", according to QfG-4 credits) which does not disappoint the QfG spirit. (and it lets you see QfG 2 in 256 colors!!)
Your computer is too fast for "Quest For Glory III" ? Download the turbo program. (on "News" page)
